Three Seven Valleys New Tech Academy Students are inducted into the National Honor Society
Seven Valleys New Tech Academy celebrated three students for their commitment to scholarship, service, leadership and character by inducting them into the National Honor Society (NHS) on Tuesday.
Students must maintain a GPA of 85 percent or above, hold a leadership position at work or in an extracurricular activity, perform some type of community service, and write an essay describing their character in order to be inducted into the NHS.
Principal Christine Alexander welcomed inductees’ parents, families and friends to the ceremony, highlighting the effort that goes into being eligible for the prestigious recognition.
“You have demonstrated the characteristics of the National Honor Society through your hard work and being active members of our school community,” said Alexander. “I’m so proud of each and every one of you for your commitment to Seven Valleys and congratulations.”
Following a candle-lighting ceremony, students were inducted into the NHS by School Counselor Elizabeth Henricks and received honor cords and certificates before reciting the NHS membership pledge.
The 2024 Seven Valleys New Tech Academy NHS inductees are:
Cortland Enlarged City School District: Jessica O’Mara and Sydney Brewer
